Irish Blackthorn Shillelagh – Large Dog-Leg Walking Stick

A seriously impressive Irish Blackthorn Shillelagh, measuring just under a massive 49 inches in length and weighing over 1kg.

This is a big, substantial piece of Irish blackthorn with plenty of natural character. Halfway down the shaft, the timber takes a pronounced dog-leg curve. Rather than hiding this natural feature, we have embraced it as part of what makes this stick so unusual and full of character.

The stick has a traditional knob-style blackthorn handle, giving it a solid, comfortable grip and adding to its classic shillelagh appearance. The natural colour of the blackthorn has been retained, allowing the character and grain of the timber to remain the star of the piece.

Finished with yacht varnish to give the wood a durable, glossy protective finish and fitted with a rubber ferrule to provide grip and protection at the tip.

This is a substantial, eye-catching shillelagh with a presence that is difficult to appreciate from photographs alone. The natural dog-leg, large dimensions and impressive weight make this a particularly unusual piece of Irish blackthorn.
