Irish Blackthorn Walking Stick – Traditional Shillelagh Style

This is a fine traditional Irish blackthorn walking stick, full of character and very much in the classic shillelagh style. It is not perfectly straight, which adds to its authentic appearance and makes it feel like a true country walking stick made in the old way.

The shaft is strong and well balanced, feeling comfortable and secure in the hand. It has a slightly oval shape rather than being perfectly round, so although it measures approximately 4cm (1.6 inches) at its thickest point tapering down to around 3cm (1.2 inches), it does not feel overly chunky when held.

This stick has plenty of natural character, with traditional bumps and healed-over branch points that blackthorn is known for. These natural features give every stick its own personality and are part of what makes blackthorn so highly valued as a traditional Irish walking stick wood.

It is solid, dependable, and well suited for both walking use and display, and would make a fine addition to any collection of traditional Irish sticks.
