Knobsticks are traditional country sticks and have been popular for centuries. Rustic in appearance these attractive one-piece knob walking sticks with bark are made in the traditional manner from coppiced hazel wood. The traditional sustainable forestry technique of coppicing to produce the raw material for walking sticks is practiced. Cut in winter, the walking stick is then seasoned for one year before being straightened and finished by hand. This stick is fitted with a metal ferrule. Free removable non-slip Rubber Tip included. Description: Overall height approximately 36", diameter 1 1/8". Stout shank."Hazel was crucially important in the past as a source of wood and had many uses.
